Classes
Boogie Basics
Introduces basic ballet, tap, and tumbling techniques and vocabulary in a structured class environment for young dancers. These classes also intertwine creative movement for our younger dancers. Dancers develop rhythm, coordination, and movement while building their confidence and self-esteem.
Ballet
Ballet is the foundation of all dancing. Through traditional principles, our ballet classes emphasize proper placement, grace, poise, and the technique needed to be proficient in other areas of dance. We recommend that all students take at least one ballet class per week.
Tap
Tap is a percussive style of dance studied in shoes with metal taps attached. In addition to interpreting the mood of the music, students also develop coordination of mind and body and a more perceptive sense of rhythm, timing, and phrasing. In our tap classes, students will learn the FUNdamentals of tap and rhythmic patterns in both Broadway (theater) and Rhythm (hoofer) tap dance styles.
Jazz
Jazz builds on the techniques learned in the ballet course and focuses on building strong technique, strength, and flexibility. Classes incorporate stretching, across the floor combinations, and choreography. Students learn different turns, jumps, leaps, and extensions while incorporating them into various styles to develop well-rounded dancers with great lines and technical ability.
Hip Hop
"Boogie Bounce" (ages 5-7)
Hip Hop class provides a structured method of learning various Hip Hop dance movements including pop, lock, street and breakdancing in a fun-filled and vibrant class environment. Students learn body control and choreography as well as today’s trending dance moves.
Lyrical
Lyrical is a fluid form of dance that combines ballet and jazz skills to create extension and balance and control while dancing and expressing oneself to the music. Students must be enrolled in Ballet and Jazz to take Lyrical classes.
